The Cultural Spring Charity is recruiting board members!
The Cultural Spring Charity is a new organisation that will advance the Arts in Sunderland and South Tyneside. We’ll do this by running arts events, performances and workshops in our community. Our project has been running since 2014 and we have worked with over 50,000 people since then.
We are looking for people to join our new Board to help guide and drive our new beginning. We want our board to represent the communities we work with. Prior experience of being a trustee is not necessary.
Our ideal Board member will have:
- Passion and enthusiasm for making things happen
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Desire to contribute to group discussions and decisions
- An interest in working with different communities in Sunderland and South Tyneside
In return we offer:
- The chance to make a real difference to a new charity
- Out of pocket expenses, e.g. travel expenses for Board meetings
- Training and support to become a brilliant board member
- Opportunities to grow your skills and network
Successful applicants will be expected to attend 6-10 meetings a year. Our first two are scheduled to be online on 19 January and 2 March (10am-12noon). Other dates and times will be set around Board members’ availability. All meetings will be online or at fully accessible venues.
The term of appointment is for 3 years; enough time for you to make a real difference.
Please send a letter, video or voice note letting us know why you’d like to join our Board and how you think you could make a difference to us email@example.com by 12 noon on Monday 15 November.
Your video or voice note should be sent via WeTransfer or a Dropbox link and should be a maximum of three minutes
Please also complete completed our Equal Opportunities Form, using this
Interested, but not quite sure?
We’re holding an online information session on Thursday 21 October 6-7pm, using zoom. Please email your interest in attending to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll send you the meeting link.
Not the right time?
We understand that this might not be the right time for you, either professionally or personally to commit to becoming a Board Member. If you’d like to be informed of future Board recruitment please email email@example.com
We’d also be happy to hear from you if you can’t commit to becoming a Board member but would be interested in contributing to one of our sub-committees.
As a new charity our future is for you, our future Board members, to set out. We have three sub-committees; Finance & Fundraising, Ambition & Quality and Inclusivity & Relevance.
Board members are expected to join one sub-committee; you may have specialist experience or an alternative perspective that will help us do things differently and better. All we want is for you to bring your passion to the table.
