Michael graduated from the University of Sunderland in 2006. After a short spell with the Sunderland Empire Theatre, he then worked at Newcastle University where he organised a range of educational events and residential summer schools for young people. Prior to joining The Cultural Spring, Michael worked in Toronto, Canada where he organised social and cultural activities at an international language college and also worked for a number of festivals including the Toronto Fringe Festival.
Michael will ensure Cultural Spring achieves its ambitions around community engagement; identifying new ways to engage communities in commissioning work, implementing innovative participatory decision making processes and working with artists, academics and community development specialists delivering best practice and learning dissemination. Michael is employed by The Customs House and is based there.
