‘Our First Three Years’ was a showcase of the fantastic work which had taken place during phase 1 of The Cultural Spring from 2014 – 2017 which took the form of a brochure, exhibition, film and live performance night.
The exhibition and live performance took place on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th January 2017 at The Customs House in South Shields. Featuring images, videos and text from the various projects, events and workshops which made up phase 1 the exhibition provided a chance to explore the scope of the work carried out and revisit some of its highlights. It also gave the opportunity for groups formed through The Cultural Spring and workshop participants to exhibit their art from glass work, textiles, photography and more.
The Live performance took place on the evening of Saturday 28th January. Held in The Customs House main auditorium with a lineup packed with groups that had come from The Cultural Springs workshop programme it celebrated the accomplishments made in phase 1 through song, dance and laughter. The show also featured the premiere of ‘Our First Three Years’ film alongside other videos of past projects to round off the night.
